Uninstall applications silently

Or to remove applications manually. First thing you need to do is look in the registry for the application’s GUID

Windows Installer:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Installer

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer

For example {375943E2-B268-4AD7-B7A4-0FD90E9C2AC7}

Then it’s a simple case of running msiexec /x {375943E2-B268-4AD7-B7A4-0FD90E9C2AC7} /quiet.

Registry location for software installed by Group Policy

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Group Policy\AppMgmt

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Group Policy\AppMgmt

Registry location for programs listed in Add/Remove programs

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products
